Huge congratulations to Worcester’s Amy Green who won silver in the K1 200m at the ICF Sprint Juniors and Under 23 World Championships.
Amy spoke to Paddle UK: “I got off the water and I thought maybe I had come fourth, so I was over the moon I found out that I had come second. I am really happy, all the hard work I have put in this year. I am excited for Euros.”
Well done, Amy!

Also in sprint racing this month, Emily Lewis finished in 6th place in the women’s K4 at the Montreal World Cup, alongside Zoe Clark, Deborah Kerr and Kristina Armstrong in their first A Final of the season.
July has also been a super success for Katie Brookes winning the Senior Women’s K1, Senior Women’s K2 alongside Samantha Martyn (Wey Kayak Club), and the Mixed K2 title with Joe Petersen at the National Marathon Championships – named as “arguably the standout performer of the championships” by Paddle UK. Katie now races for Richmond, but began her paddling career as a junior here at Worcester.
We’re looking forward to what the rest of the season will bring.
