Some of our Juniors and U23 paddlers attended the national regatta at Nottingham on the 14th and 15th of April, there were many successes, along with some new personal bests set, even if the conditions were not optimum. Well done to all participants and good luck to all racing this season.
The annual Worcester Hasler will take place this year on Sunday 6th May, along with the K1 assessment race on the same day. The details of the race can be found here:

Worcester had some stand out performances at the Burton Hasler race on Sunday with a good range of paddlers competing from division 3 to division 9.
Four Worcester paddlers picked up prizes at the event with John Parker taking the win in division 3, Katie Brookes winning division 5 and securing a promotion to division 4, Victoria Young came in second in division 8 and Kieron Killey won the award for being the fastest junior after finishing 5th in division 3.
Other Worcester paddlers also raced well on the day with Andy Nevitt and Matt Wooliscroft also racing in division 5 with Andy coming 16th and Matt coming 9th in a large race with 17 competitors, Peter Killey finishing 13th in division 8 and Liz Young finishing 8th in division 9.
Well done to the Worcester paddlers who raced on the weekend.

Please be aware that Worcester Rowing Club are running a ‘Mini Head’ on the river this Sunday, 5th Feb.
This is not a formal event but there may be slightly more boats on the river including two marshalling catamaran. Boats will be launching from 8.30am with crews departing from The Camp Pub from 9.30am onwards. It is expected it will all be finished by 10.30am.
Please take extra care if you intend using the river during this time.

Please be aware that the University of Worcester Rowing Club is holding their annual Head Race on Sunday 29th of January 2017.
Boating is due to begin at 8:15AM but they have asked that the river be clear by 7:30AM so that umpires and marshals can get in place. If all goes to plan, they hope to finish by 5:00PM but please note, these timings are only approximate.

Its that time of year again when the nights are getting darker and the river is becoming less inviting. Therefore we have booked the New College (Blind College) swimming pool for Worcester Canoe Club swimming sessions as we have done in previous years. These are starting on Monday 31st October.
These are open to ANYONE that would like to keep their fitness levels up and keep in touch with club members over the winter months. We have to pay to hire the pool so like usual there will be a small charge per swimmer. There will be 4 lanes that vary from lanes doing a set fitness session, to lanes that just potter up and down at their own pace, do whatever suits you best. Parents/children/friends of club members are also welcome to join. People must be able to swim to join these sessions as they will not be coached as such.

When: Monday nights 6.45pm-7.45pm
Price: £3.50 per swimmer (bring cash on the night)

There is a code on the door – check on the clubs closed group Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/worcestercc) to find out what this is or contact me on the number below. Don’t worry if you forget the code – knock on the window I’m sure someone will let you in.
